Ok, so hubby and I have Friday off this week-just needed a mental health day. We decided to take the train down to NYC and spend the night, since he's only been there once, (Sept. 10th, just before the attacks) and hadn't had the urge to go back since. I haven't been there in 10 years, except the airport for transfers onto another airport, that is.
We've got our hotel booked (Intercontinental in Mid-Town East?), so now we need stuff to do-we're getting in about lunchtime on Friday, we would like to do a tour (hubby's never seen ANYTHING in NY-he was there for some Ultimate Fight thingy our friend was in) of the city, maybe see the Empire State building? I've done the whole tour thing before, but I don't mind doing it again. We also need to get reservations somewhere for dinner, and suggestions on what to do after dinner (comedy club? bar with music?).
I believe there are a few people from the NYC area on the board-do you have any suggestions for people who will be in town only one night? What should we make sure to see and/or do with our time?
Thanks in advance!

Hey! Go see a Broadway show! There is a booth called the TKTS booth under the Marriot in times square and you could get cheap seats for most Broadway/Offbroadway and even some Opera shows. Get there early for tickets for that night. Empire State is nice but expensive. Tour Museam mile? Eat/shop/see China town. Anyway what are your interests- i am sure there is something that you can do....
The Museam of Sex maybe?

Actually, I don't live in NYC. I live near enough that I can get there by train...
So, I really can't help you there.
But, there are scads of places you can look at. One would be The Cloisters...
