We will talk about films that Adam was in and about his parts in the film. I really liked this one. Specially Animal mother. When that guy died "Better you than me" He was closest to Jayne of any character Adam played Do you think that Joss created Jayne based on Animal Mother?

"Better you than me" ROTFL when I heard that one. It is so Jayne. At first I felt Animal Mother was quite like Jayne, but though they both love guns, Animal Mother seems like a more decent guy. He doesn't want to leave EightBall and the other guy dying, whereas Jayne would probably leave them there. Don't get me wrong, I love Jayne, but he's really a selfish jerk. For the time we got to know him anyway.

The similarities in both characters are apparent. But animal mother was fighting for his contry, Jayne fights for who ever pays the most one thing that did stick with me from FMJ is the mickey mouse song that the troops sing at the end. It was odly placed but some how managed to display a feeling of togetherness and a longing for home. i dont htink the film would be the same with out it. Darren

The Mickey Mouse Club March that ended FMJ is one of the greatest movie endings ever. How off guard does that catch you? I've read many different interpretations of it, but no one can say they saw it coming. Awesome. There's a FMJ writeup on a site called coldbacon.com that discusses, among other things, the relationship between Animal Mother and Eightball, and it's got some downloadable video clips, including the first time Joker meets Animal Mother, the prostitute scene, and the "f**k You Cowboy!" scene (the one mentioned above, where Animal Mother defies the order to leave Eightball and Doc for dead). Not a substiitute for watching the whole thing of course, but they make good discussion aids. www.coldbacon.com/movies/fullmetaljacket.html

The original Mickey Mouse Club aired in the 50s (when the Marines in FMJ would have been children). Every episode would start with a black & white cartoon of Mickey Mouse leading a marching band doing the song, and the letters (M-I-C-K-E-Y...) would pop up on the screen, and kids would sing along. It was hugely popular. I'm not old enough to have seen it originally, but I've seen it in rerun years ago.
