one thing that did stick with me from FMJ is the mickey mouse song that the troops sing at the end. It was odly placed but some how managed to display a feeling of togetherness and a longing for home. i dont htink the film would be the same with out it. I have to admit that the first time I watched FMJ, seeing them marching while sing the MMC theme totally gave me the wiggins. But after thinking on it for a l-o-n-g while, I realized that it wigged me because it was the militarization of a symbol of childhood, just as Joker had finally been militarized. Most of the men marching and singing cadence were little more than children themselves and they had lost their innocence just as the MMC theme had lost its innocence. That scene still gives me chills.

I realized that it wigged me because it was the militarization of a symbol of childhood. When I first saw FMJ, I didn't know the song was a children's song. It really struck me as a military song. Now I know where the song comes from, the scene kind of weirds me out too, but I still love it.
