Guess what I'm posting? A report! Well, that was unexpected, wouldn't you say? Posted first at the prospero boards (on this thread forums.prospero.com/foxfirefly/messages?msg=21474.1) by redaly. Be sure to click on the link at the end, there are some nice pics. Redaly: "Well, my WonderCon experience is over, so I thought I'd go ahead and tell you all about it! This was my first con, AND the first time i got together with other browncoats (ones i hadn't converted myself that is!). I worked the table on Friday. Everyone was super nice and friendly, and we handed out a lot of stuff, both to the tons of people who already knew Firefly, and to the folks who hadn't heard of it before but thought it sounded interesting. I think the high point of Friday was Miyu's phone call from Alan Tudyk, which put her on the verge of a coronary. He was super sweet, he apologized for not being able to come and offered to send some t-shirts for the raffle, and she was incredibly articulate given who was on the phone! i would have been stuttering like a lunatic, myself! Saturday, I stood in line with hundreds and hundreds of other people for, oh, an hour or so to try and get autographs. there was a lottery system where we picked a ticket out of a bin for each of the people/groups who were signing, and only the relatively few stamped tickets got autographs. I went through and got nothing. fortunately, the wonderful and charming guy in front of me got three, and since he wasn't a big firefly fan (although i did convince him he should come see serenity) and i think he felt sorry for me, he gave me the one for the serenity crew! Groups of people started moving to the auditorium and saving seats fairly early in the day (thank you all of you wonderful people, you are of the coolest!), so lots of browncoats were in the front few rows. we saw the trailer for some movie called the cave, and then for the war of the worlds (which looks like it could be interesting, actually), and then it was time for the important part: the big d**n heros! There's an excellent summary of the discussion over in the 'Wondercon report at Universal board' thread, so I won't go over it again. I just want to add to it that all three of the actors and joss just really seemed happy to be there, seemed like they were having a good time, and seemed very excite by how excited everyone was to see them. They mocked each other, they had fun with each other, and it was really great to see how much fun they have together. oh, and towards the end, Nathan had Alan Tudyk on the phone, joking around, and one of the things Alan was very concerned about was whether the t-shirts had arrived- what a sweetie! then, of course, i went and stood in line for the autographs. The poor things, just sitting and signing for an hour, trying to get a person through every thirty seconds, it must have sucked for them. AND, despite the fact that he was already scheduled for an hour's signing later on, Joss came and signed with the group, showing yet again how amazing he is! They were very nice and friendly, even though I was about halfway down the line and about two thirds of the way through the time allotted. At that point, they were sort of generally signing the poster, but not really signing specific other things unless they were directly Firefly related, so the autographs were a little unrelated to the conversations. (and i forgot my DVDs, so I couldn't get them signed, aargh!) And I THINK I didn't babble too badly, I thanked Adam for all of his work, and said how much we appreciate his liking to be in contact with us. I also said i had some things to say to him on the poly threads, and he asked for my user name so he'd know who it was! Next was Nathan, who looked up and said 'Hi, I'm Nathan, what's your name?' as though I could in any way have not known who he is! I said what a great actor i think he is, and how wonderful it is that he likes hie fans so much, and then had a horrible memory spasm in mid sentence, and said that I was really looking forward to 'that--horror--movie you have the lead in. He said he thought we'd like it, and that he had actually JUST finished shooting hours before he got on a plane to come to WonderCon, and I said then thank you again for coming when you're so tired. Summer was next, and she was clearly a little nervous at the reaction. But she was really genuine, when I said I was incredibly impressed with her skills, and that I hoped to see her in more stuff in the future, she said thanks as though it was the first time she'd heard it ever, let alone that day. Joss was wonderful, as he couldn't possibly be anything else, and think I did babble a little to him, which ended in my saying that he had been the poster child for the possibility of good scripted TV, and that I hoped he would continue in the genre, and he replied that he hopes there will still be scripted TV in two or three years. On reflection , I'm not sure if that was just pessimism on the scripted TV front, or if he was hinting that he didn't think he'd be back into TV until then. We had a pretty good turnout in the room, lots of people, lots of good episodes. Miyu did an absolutely incredible job getting things for the raffle prizes, and I think that a lot of money was raised for the Red Cross. Nathan apparently even stopped by the booth at some point and gave her the very sweatshirt off his back, signed and still dirty! But ANYway, that's my report. I had an amazing time, and all of the browncoats that I met were wonderfully nice, fun, and welcoming. I can't wait until the next event! In the meantime, www.fototime.com/inv/6C24B6B39DCA52B is a link to some of the less fuzzy photos I took. Hope you enjoy them! oh, edited because I can't BELIEVE I forgot to say how incredible the trailer looks! WOW."
link=board=cons&thread=1108470436&start=20#1 date=1108982007]I read one article about that that Adam can't stop talking about politics... I think he and I wouldn't get along...
He only talks politics if the people react. I doubt he would enter in a monologue about politics if people were bored with it... But what do I know anyway, I could be wrong. Here is a link to an interview in SFX magazine (british mag) www.fireflyfans.net/sunroomitem.asp?i=3152About Adam it says: "Which member of the cast has the most annoying habits? Morena: Well, Adam [Baldwin] and Alan [Tudyk] love to talk politics on setand they just go at each other all day long. Nathan: Adam's right wing, and he'll say something inflammatory to get Alan started... Morena: ... and Alan falls for it, it's unbelievable. Nathan: It's brilliant to watch. Morena: We just all walk away. By the end, it was like 'Okay, here they go again'..."

No problem, harlequinn Yet another link to the prospero boards. This time it's a report by Rosie: forums.prospero.com/foxfirefly/messages?msg=21477.1Below are selected passages, mostly concerning Adam. "Then the cast came out, clean shaven Adam, lovely Summer, and Nathan. Joss came out with a clear purple backpack so Adam picked it up like it had cooties and moved it. He said, “That’s better.” Summer came out and gave Joss a big hug. Finally it’s Nathan’s turn and he came out and greeted everyone. (...) Joss started taking questions and I tell Blinksgurl and Ewok to go up and take pictures up close. They end up sitting on the floor in front of the panel the whole time. There were many questions. One statement I remember was from Adam about Nathan. Nathan was always the leader and kept everyone’s spirits up when they were shooting the show. Even on the edge of cancellation he kept things fun. Joss said that after they were cancelled it was Nathan who rallied the group, had dinners, kept in touch and did not negotiate a contract until everyone was on board. He kept the crew together. Aaaaawwww. (...) Adam said that Saffron was the inspiration for Jayne needing to touch things."

You know, that was only a one-day event to which I didn't go. Imagine the news you'll get when it's a 3-day event to which I'm going, and Darren too...
You'll have lots to read and see ;D
For WonderCon, a think a fan will post a video link soon.
