www.c21media.net/news/detail.asp?area=1&article=39095Virgin falls for Chuck Virgin 1 in the UK has acquired The OC creator Josh Schwartz's new series Chuck (22x60') from Warner Bros International Television Distribution (WBITD), after the show secured its back nine from NBC. The series is currently airing in the US, where it debuted with 9.2 million viewers and gave NBC its strongest scripted premiere in the Monday night 20.00 slot in seven years, despite being up against Fox hit Prison Break. Virgin 1, the new flagship channel from Virgin Media Television that launched this fall on Virgin cable and Freeview, will air the show in its spring/summer grid in 2008. Virgin 1's head of acquisitions Amy Barham did the deal with WBITD. The drama follows an average Joe whose life is thrown into disarray when he ends up downloading the entire US intelligence database into his head. Zachary Levi (Less Than Perfect), Adam Baldwin (Day Break) and Yvonne Strahovski star. “Both action-packed and hilarious, Chuck is the perfect show for Virgin 1's audience," Barham said. The series, created by Schwartz and Chris Fedak, is from College Hill Pictures and Wonderland Sound & Vision, in association with Warner Bros TV. 13 Dec 2007
