www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-finalchuckepisodesairdate,0,3378472.story?coll=zap-news-headlines Yep, it's been announced-the last two will air on the same night... 'Chuck' Gets One More Showcase Final pre-strike episodes set for Jan. 24 "Chuck" is returning to NBC, for all of one night. The show's final two episodes for the foreseeable future will air at 8 and 10 p.m. ET Thursday, Jan. 24, the network announced Wednesday. They'll be sandwiched around an episode of "The Celebrity Apprentice" and take the place of comedy repeats (at 8) and "ER" (at 10). They also represent the end of "Chuck's" initial 13-episode order and the last episodes completed before the onset of the writers' strike two months ago. NBC has picked up the series for a full season, ensuring that, whenever the strike does end, the show will be back. When last we saw the show in early December, Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) had reached an uneasy, "just friends" stage in their CIA asset-handler relationship, while Casey (Adam Baldwin) got orders from higher-ups that with the new version of the Intersect computer nearly ready, it would soon be time to eliminate the old one: Chuck himself. "Chuck" averaged about 8.7 million viewers per week during its fall run. In NBC's favorite demographic of adults 18-49, it drew a 3.5 rating, second in its timeslot to ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

Well this is sure bittersweet, it was fun while it lasted, if it DOESN'T last. Here's hoping! I'm so glad Adam got to be part of this fantastic show, if anything.

scifi.about.com/b/2008/01/19/show-return-updates-chuck.htmShow Return Updates: Chuck Saturday January 19, 2008 Sarah Lancaster as Ellie and Ryan McPartlin as Devon Woodcomb in Chuck. © Chris Haston/ NBCChuck fans, get ready for not one but two curve balls: Our favorite nerd/superspy returns on Thursday, Jan. 24, with two episodes – both airing that night (8 p.m. and 10 p.m.). In the first episode, "Chuck Versus the Undercover Lover," is a John Casey episode: a flashback to the year 2004 finds Major Casey is involved with a Russian photojournalist named Ilsa. Now Ilsa has returned with a fiance, Victor, but it turns out Ilsa has other secrets. Adam Baldwin is easily one of the best things about this show, so this episode has a lot of potential. In "Chuck Versus the Marlin," we get two new characters, both after the Intersect (i.e., Chuck). Meanwhile, Awesome (or, if you prefer, Devon, played by Ryan McPartlin) is going to propose to Ellie (Sarah Lancaster), and delegates Chuck to hang onto the ring (ruh-roh); he stashes it in his locker at work. A beautiful, young female enemy agent (because only beautiful people can be spies on this show) blows Chuck's cover, and a handsome CIA agent (what was I saying?) who is posing as an undercover police detective investigating a major theft at the Buy More (guess what got stolen?). Chuck ends up getting yanked out of his life and stuck in a cell while the NSA figures out what to do with him. Fortunately that's not where they're going to leave it. There will supposed to be five more new episodes of Chuck after these two.

LOUIS POST-DISPATCH 01/24/2008 SPOTLIGHT 'Chuck' 7 and 9 p.m. on NBC (Channel 5) In November, NBC picked up "Chuck" for a full season. That seemed like better news then than it does now, when the "full season" of most shows may already be over. But "Chuck," which has been on hiatus for a while, has two episodes left, and NBC will air both tonight, seeing how "Chuck" fares in the pivotal Thursday night lineup.

In the first, we find out more about Casey (the macho-ly amusing Adam Baldwin). In the second (10 ET/PT), we find out what the government might have in store for Chuck — and it isn't pretty.

www.nwanews.com/adg/Style/214683/More talk about tonight's eps... (this is a story from Arkansas, so the times are different than East Coast)MICHAEL STOREY Posted on Thursday, January 24, 2008 There will be two — two ! — new episodes of NBC’s outstanding action / comedy Chuck tonight. They’ll even be hosted by series star Zach Levi. The first episode airs at 7 p.m. Then we have to suffer though another tedious episode of The Celebrity Apprentice. Then we get another new episode of Chuck at 9 p.m. Savor them while you can. The show has been renewed for a full season, but these are the last of the 13 scripts that were ordered before the writers went on strike. The cliffhanger: Casey (Adam Baldwin ) has gotten orders that it’s almost time to “eliminate” the old Intersect computer. That would be Chuck and his brain. Thought he retired.

www.nj.com/columns/ledger/sepinwall/index.ssf?/base/columns-0/120115296398340.xml&coll=1And from NJ...NBC serves up a 'Chuck' sandwich Thursday, January 24, 2008 BY ALAN SEPINWALL Star-Ledger Staff Chuck (Channel 4, 8 and 10 p.m.) NBC airs two episodes of its rookie action comedy about a tech support guy with a computer in his brain. HEY, REMEMBER when networks used to air TV shows with actors, and scripts, and plots? I know the writers strike is only a few months old, and that there are still some scripted shows here and there whose leftover episodes keep airing ("Law & Order," "Boston Legal," "Friday Night Lights," plus "The Wire" and "Breaking Bad" on cable). But there have been nights lately when I've forgotten what good dialogue even sounded like. Fortunately, NBC is offering a reminder tonight with a "Chuck" sandwich, airing the two leftover episodes of its rookie action comedy at 8 and 10 (Donald Trump's ego is in between). These episodes were originally going to air whenever the strike ended and more new episodes were completed, but that plan was from the days when everyone hoped this would be a short strike. Note: This "Chuck" sandwich shouldn't be confused with the actual Chuck Sandwich, which was introduced two episodes earlier in the season by guest star Rachel Bilson. That sandwich was made with turkey and muenster cheese grilled on egg bread, where this sandwich's ingredients include "Casablanca," Neil Diamond, gravity boots and a stuffed marlin -- a typically odd assortment for a show about a guy (the likably goofy Zachary Levi) who does tech support at a big-box store and then chases spies and terrorists thanks to the computer in his brain. The first episode (the better of the two), finds Chuck's alpha male handler Casey (Adam Baldwin) displaying a softer side when reports of the death of the love of his life turn out to be greatly exaggerated, while the second involves a robbery at the Buy More, and the possibility that the government could lock Chuck away from his friends and family for his own safety. The show's strength is still its comedy -- not too many other action shows would have its hero squeaking out lines like "I have very weak thighs!" in the middle of a fight scene -- but the pathos ain't bad, either. When Casey drowns his sorrows by listening to the "Jazz Singer" soundtrack, it's ridiculous, but also kind of sad. Hopefully, the strike ends soon and there's more of "Chuck" (and every other scripted show) soon. I'm not sure how fulfilling my life will be without weekly doses of Chuck's sister's boyfriend, Captain Awesome.
