lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080609/ENTERTAINMENT/806090304/1164New character being introduced... As a worshipper of quality comedies like "30 Rock" and "The Office," I am blasphemous for never having seen a full episode of "Arrested Development." So although it's high on my NetFlix queue and could be viewed even sooner via Hulu, feel free to blame me for its premature demise after you're done critiquing Fox for canceling it. On "Arrested Development," Hale played Byron "Buster" Bluth, the neurotic brother with mommy issues. If his "Chuck" character is anything like that, that kind of comedy should complement the gut-busting deadpan style of Adam Baldwin's John Casey. Here's the dish on Hale's role, according the Reporter: Hale will play Emmett, the new assistant manager of the Buy More store where Chuck (Zachary Levi) works. An efficiency expert, he is sent in by Buy More corporate and decides to stay on when he realizes how poorly run the store is. Hale fans will have busy Monday nights, thanks to another gig the actor just landed. He's playing the new doctor of Christina Applegate's character on ABC's"Samantha Who?" - Chris Serico (posted June 4, 2008)

www.whedon.info/Adam-Baldwin-Chuck-Tv-Series,26741.html Melinda Clarke of ’The O.C.’ to guest on ’Chuck’ Fans of Melinda Clarke’s memorable turn as Lady Heather, a sexy dominatrix who enchanted Gil Grissom on CSI, can get a fix this fall when she appears on the NBC dramedy Chuck’s second episode. She’ll play Sasha Banacheck, a she-devil whom Chuck (Zachary Levi) can only defeat with the help of a legendary womanizer (and former spy) played by John Larroquette. Clarke played Julie Cooper-Nichol on The O.C., mother to Kaitlin (Willa Holland) and Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton). In other Chuck casting news, Michael Clarke Duncan (The Green Mile) will appear in the season premiere as a villian who likes to dangle Chuck out of windows, among other dastardly deeds. After a long hiatus due to the 100-day writers strike, Chuck — which focuses on a computer geek turned secret government agent — returns to NBC for a second season this fall.

www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=20080625nbc02[06.25.08 - 02:23 PM] NICOLE RICHIE ('THE SIMPLE LIFE') COMPLICATES LIFE WHEN SHE GUEST-STARS ON NBC'S 'CHUCK' AS SARAH'S HIGH-SCHOOL NEMESIS Released by NBC [NOTE: The following article is a press release issued by the aforementioned network and/or company. Any errors, typos, etc. are attributed to the original author. The release is reproduced solely for the dissemination of the enclosed information.] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NICOLE RICHIE ('THE SIMPLE LIFE') COMPLICATES LIFE WHEN SHE GUEST-STARS ON NBC'S 'CHUCK' AS SARAH'S HIGH-SCHOOL NEMESIS BURBANK, Calif. - June 25, 2008 On a new episode of NBC's returning drama "Chuck" (Mondays, 8-9 p.m. ET), Special Agent Sarah Walker (series star Yvonne Strahovski, "Gone") gets a bad blast from the past when she comes face to face with her high school nemesis -- played by guest star Nicole Richie ("The Simple Life") -- for broadcast this fall. Richie will guest-star in the episode as the snarky and spiteful girl who tortured Sarah in school -- and now Sarah must face her fears when she is forced to attend her 10-year high school reunion for a mission with Chuck (series star Zachary Levi, "Less Than Perfect") as her date. "Nicole auditioned for the part and was very funny," said executive producer Josh Schwartz. "This role is a great opportunity for her to show off her comedic skills and be diabolically evil and kick some butt. It's going to be really fun." Richie recently was featured in cover stories for People magazine and Harper's Bazaar. Touted as a style icon, her fashion statements are regularly featured online, in print and on entertainment news shows. In addition to "The Simple Life," on which she co-starred with Paris Hilton, Richie has guest starred on shows such as "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter" and "American Dreams." Richie is also launching a jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960, in the upcoming fall. "Chuck" is a high-concept action comedy that follows Chuck Bartowski (Levi), a regular twentysomething whose life is thrown into disarray after his friend, a CIA agent, sends him an e-mail which results in the world's secrets becoming embedded in his mind. Chuck is just an ordinary guy who spends his days solving problems at an electronics store with a band of nerdy cohorts and longing to find a woman who can appreciate him. He never asked to become the government's most powerful weapon, but suddenly the fate of the country lies in his unlikely hands. Agents Sarah Walker (Strahovski) and John Casey (series star Adam Baldwin, "Serenity") are assigned to protect him. From College Hill Pictures, Wonderland Sound and Vision in association with Warner Bros. Television, "Chuck" was created by Josh Schwartz & Chris Fedak and is executive produced by Schwartz and McG.

io9.com/397225/is-chuck-nuking-the-fridgeLink to the full story, but here's my favorite part: The show's one saving grace is Adam Baldwin as John Casey. He's a great character and completely and totally believable. Who else was standing in their seat clapping when Jayne, sorry Casey, suited up in Buy More gear?

buzzsugar.com/1803470There will be no hesitation jumping right in to what's been happening with Chuck since we last saw him. "Our 'Previously On' is Chuck being dangled out of a window by Michael Clarke Duncan, telling the story of how he got there," Schwartz said. After we're all caught up, the show will move quickly into determining Chuck's fate. Once the new Intersect is up, Chuck won't be so necessary anymore, and Casey will be asked to "disappear" him — a mission complicated by the fact that Casey is actually starting to like our nerdy antihero. The whole season will explore the show's mythology a bit more, with deeper story arcs to go along with the missions and villains of the week. Another thing Chuck will have: romance, and not least because Chuck's college girlfriend Jill (played by Jordana Brewster) will be back in the picture. "We had planned to bring her back at the end of last season if it hadn't been for the strike," Schwartz said. "It's going to be a huge arc for us and really set the show off in a new direction." As for Sarah's feelings? "I love me a love triangle," Schwartz said. "This is somebody who has a legitimate threat — she is beautiful and cool and smart and dynamic. She gets some information about what Chuck may actually do for a living, which means he can have like a real relationship with her. So it's a real threat to the [Chuck/Sarah] romance." Chuck's also going nuts with the guest stars — not just Richie and Brewster but also John Larroquette, Tony Hale, Michael Strahan, Michael Clarke Duncan, Melinda Clarke, and Ben Savage, who plays Richie's husband in the fourth episode. Oddly enough, I may be most excited about Strahan's episode, if only because it will introduce us to the Mighty Jocks, the Sports Authority-esque sales team that shares strip mall space with the Buy More. But there's also the hilarious idea of Larroquette as Roan Montgomery, legendary seducer of women, who may have had a relationship with hardened government operative General Beckman. Sarah's getting a new cover job and a new cover uniform, Yvonne Strahovski told me — and while she was mum on the details (other than that she prefers the color scheme to her Weinerlicious getup), Levi said Sarah's newly employed at a Pinkberry-esque frozen yogurt joint. Schwartz said there will be "11 percent more Captain Awesome," and he'll take his shirt off within the first seven minutes of the first episode. (Is that a threat or a promise?)

One thing I'd like, if Jill stays for any time, is that when Chuck finally rebuffs her-as we all know he will...eventually-is that maybe she could set her sights on Casey...

Some folk are thinking that Casey will steal Ellie away from Devon. That'd mess things up [GG].

I don't think that's likely to happen. But Casey does need a girl of his own. Right now, Chuck has Sarah, Ellie has Awesome, and Morgan has Anna.
You know there's something really wrong with the world when everyone's getting lucky; except for John Casey.
As of now, Jill's a good bet. Even if it's not Jill, it was mentioned last year, that Casey would be getting a girl of his very own. I'm looking forward to that...

Sorry it's been awhile-relocating is a pregnant dog.... lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080907/ENTERTAINMENT/809070303"Chuck" (returns Sept. 29 on NBC): One of my main quibbles with this otherwise charmingly goofy adventure show was: What if the spy secrets that had been accidentally downloaded into the hapless Chuck Bartowski's brain became outdated? That issue will be addressed head-on, as it were, in Season 2, creator Josh Schwartz said. "We actually play with this going right into the first episode this season ... this idea of when the government rebuilds the 'espionage-related' Intersect computer, Chuck will become expendable and it will be left to Casey, Adam Baldwin's 'secret agent' character, to 'disappear' him, as they say in the NSA." That arc will play out all season, as will a romantic story line featuring the charmingly nerdy Chuck and his CIA handler, Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski).

So, are you moved in yet? Or is there still more to be done? Back to Casey, I hope we'll see some inner conflict with him if he's given the order to terminate Chuck. I do remember, in one of the Cons, it was reported that Casey would develop a feeling... Seeing Casey deal with the order, and likely disobeying a direct order. If he refuses to kill Chuck, wouldn't that lead to...uh... consequences...for Casey? Looking forward to seeing how this all plays out... Vandevere

Thanks for asking-we're renting a condo right now, as it's going to take 5-6 months to build our new home...
A feeling, huh? I wonder which one it'll be? I can definitely see some consequences coming up for Casey. Hopefully, he'll stay out of too much trouble!

I'm thinking that part of this... feeling...might be due to getting saved because he couldn't stay out of trouble... PS... Good luck on the condo and the house-building... Vandevere

OK-this may be just rumor, but here's some "stuff" from Kristin... www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b27582_spoiler_chat_heroes_pushing_daisies_more.htmlFlower in Los Angeles: Do you have more news about my favorite show, Chuck? Thanks! A character who's been a part of the show since the very beginning will die in the season premiere. Any guesses? In other scoop from the Chuck wagon, you may find yourself crying when one of our favorite couples splits up. (Or maybe I'm just a softie?) And a certain Nerd Herder may be up for a field-agent position. Hmmm... Could it be Capt. Awesome, leaving Ellie to fall for our handsome Casey??? I would SO love that!
